Elected officials are part of the problem

It seems we have a problem, most people see it as a problem. I feel very few of our elected officials are doing anything about the problem. I grant you that some of them are giving the problem lip service. There is an old saying, "If you are not doing anything about the solution, you are part of the problem."

1. I was asked today if I knew a way to recall a commissioner. I do not, but I will attempt to find out.

2. I was asked today if I knew a way to recall a county assessor. I do not, but I will attempt to find out.

3. Why you might ask, would someone run for elected office, knowing what the position pays, then upon being elected give himself or herself a pay raise. With the knowledge that we have a problem.

4. Why you might ask, would an elected official run for re-election to an office knowing full well what the office paid and immediately ask for a pay raise? Knowing that we have a problem.

The answer to questions three and four is greed, just plain greed. The answers to questions one and two need to come from someone much smarter than I.
