Howard Vincent Kettenring passed into the loving care of Jesus on May 20, 2005.

He is deeply missed by family and friends.

Howard was born May 13, 1951, at Burbank, Calif., to Charles and Betty Kettenring, the second of four children. He grew up in Reseda, Calif., and attended and graduated from Cleveland High in 1968. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years, from 1969-1973, including more than one year spent overseas during the Vietnam War working as an aircraft mechanic.

Upon his honorable discharge, Howard worked various jobs, including having his own sandblasting business.

A few years later, along with several other family members, Howard migrated to Placerville in northern California and then later on to Sandpoint, Idaho.

He was a gifted artist, mostly enjoying drawing, pencil sketchings of his family and friends as they would sit and visit. However, Howard's greatest joy was spending time with his 6-year-old son, Jeremiah.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Kettenring; and a nephew, Richard Fritsch.

He is survived by his son, Jeremiah Chapple Kettenring of Clark Fork, Idaho; a brother, Tommy Kettenring of Sagle; and two sisters, Linda Byars and Zoe Agape of Sagle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services with family and friends are pending.
