Graduates' attire was no big deal
As a parent of a graduating Sandpoint High School senior, I was extremely proud of all the graduates. I saw nothing wrong with what some of them chose to wear — after all, they graduated outdoors, under some pouring rain.
Not only is graduation a ceremony, but it's a celebration. Those 267 graduates should be proud of themselves and each other. They showed some personality and enthusiasm for successfully finishing this phase of their education. Were the friends and families in the audience all wearing dresses or nice slacks? Of course not.
Sandpoint is a wonderful place to raise our families and SHS has graduated some outstanding people throughout the years. Congratulations, graduates and may you have success in all that you do and continue to be true to yourselves.
