SANDPOINT — Following in the footsteps of his older brother, Sean Lissy has committed himself to play football for the Air Force Academy next fall.

"It's a really good education and you get paid to go to college which really helps out," said Lissy, who's brother, David, is already attending the Air Force Academy. "We are both going to be cadets and hopefully play on the football team together, and also do track together."

Lissy thought about Montana State and the University of Idaho, but in his mind they did not really compare to the Air Force Academy.

"The Air Force Academy was my main choice," said Lissy, who graduated from Sandpoint High School Saturday with a 4.1 grade point average.

Leaving on Thursday, June 30, Lissy said he is very excited for the opportunity.

"It doesn't give be much of a summer, but that's OK," he added.

The Air Force season opening football game will be against Washington on Sept. 3 and will be televised by ABC. The game is being played at Qwest Field in Seattle.

The Falcons finished last season with a 5-6 overall mark, and finished tied for fourth in the conference with a 3-4 record.
