Life-saving invention has helped many

The article in the June 21, 2005, paper about Dr. Bird brought back memories from years ago.

Thank you, Dr. Bird.

About 46 years ago on May 24, your respiratory bird saved our son's life. He had a membrane form over his lungs. The same condition killed the Kennedy baby a few years before. The doctor told us he wouldn't have lived without your life-saving invention. Again, thank you for inventing the respiratory bird.

Also, thank you for being the person you are.
