Postive attitude creates positive energy
Most real estate agents will advise their clients to turn on the lights and open the drapes when showing their home. "Light and bright" is inviting and exudes a positive energy that sells a home faster than dark and closed That same rule can be applied to getting in sync with your life.
Positive energy attracts positive energy. It's like a moth to the flame — a basic law of attraction that when harnessed can contribute to a higher level of health and well-being.
A life of purpose and intention is not driven by ego. The heart of who we are is not defined by how much stuff we have, or what we do, or what others think.
What we have can be lost with one financial mishap. What we do can be altered by life circumstances. And, what others think is meaningless if we're not connected with the authenticity of who we are.
Every thought has an energy that can either energize or weaken. People with positive attitudes tend to view situations in a brighter light. It doesn't mean that life crises don't happen — it's just in their nature to find the silver lining.
We all have areas where our personal expectations are less than stellar. I can walk and hike with the best of them. Put a golf club in my hand, and my negative attitude takes over.
I have an expectation of doing poorly — so I match my expectation. I sabotage myself by lifting my head and hitting off my right foot. I've taken many lessons and know the proper techniques, but my misguided ego goes into high gear.
When I relax and enjoy the moment, my club naturally connects with the ball and drives it loftily down the fairway. It feels so easy. My relaxed attitude allowed my natural ability to surface. When I let go of my ego, I effortlessly apply the techniques I previously learned.
You set yourself up for failure by letting the obstacles preexist in the mind before you do them. You've already decided you don't fit in or you're not good enough. It's like giving your body all sorts of excuses to fail.
Your negative thoughts are an energy that can have a ripple effect. They can extinguish your natural light, tense up your muscles and create feelings of anxiety, jealousy and disharmony.
Intuition is the language of energy and most optimistic people have tuned into this "gut-centered" voice. They inherently know it's committed to preserving their sense of peace and well-being. It's a kind of non-technical truth detector that isn't easily dazzled.
It's a subtle feeling that can make your skin crawl, or deliver a burst of enthusiasm. Your positive energy can drain in the presence of one person, and swell with the "good vibes" of another.
Being that person who radiates "good vibes" comes natural to some and a challenging goal for others. Having a positive attitude doesn't mean being a "pollyanna" in difficult times, but having a trust that the cycle of life continues in all its good and bad times.
Too many times we let our egos get in the way of having a positive mental attitude. Instead of feeling gracious, we feel deprived.
When we exude positive energy, we can brighten our own natural light and that of others.
