Nate Holland takes 4th in U.S. World Cup Boardercross
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Sandpoint racer Nate Holland took fourth place in the U.S. World Cup Boardercross Sunday.
Advancing in a field of 52 international riders, Holland had the best result of the 10 U.S. competitors that qualified for the race.
"Air is where it's at, I love it," said Holland, who missed the podium by a toenail. "I definitely prefer these types of courses, lots of air, lots of rhythm."
NBC will televise highlights of the event at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Earlier last month, Holland just off the heels of a brotherly show-down at the X-Games, met up again with younger brother Pat in the start gates. This time, however, it was the semi-final round of Outdoor Life Network's Gravity Games at Copper Mountain, Colo.
In one of the most technical courses built this year, that included a 300-degree section amusingly called the "toilet bowl", brothers Nate and Pat finished the race seventh and 12th, respectively.
The OLN channel will be televising the Gravity Game events at 9:30 p.m. on March 27-30.
