Grace Maio Johnson, 82, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on March 8, 2005.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho. Eric Rust, Cedar Hills Church in Sandpoint, will officiate.

Friends may call at Coffelt's Moon Chapel on Friday, March 11, 2005, from 3-6 p.m.

Grace was born in Snowball, Ark., on April 29, 1922. She was raised in Arkansas and Oklahoma, attending local schools. She moved to Cataldo, Idaho, in 1940, and then to Priest River in 1956.

She and her husband, Henry Maio, owned and operated the Maio Department Stores in Priest River and Oldtown, Idaho. Following her retirement, she lived in Spokane for 20 years, moving back to Sandpoint in 1996. She attended Hickory Street Baptist Church in Sandpoint.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Sue Poppino of Sandpoint; a daughter-in-law, Joan Poppino of Naples, Idaho; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern and Bea, both of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Paul, Henry and Harold; a son, Bruce Poppino; and a grandson, Patrick.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
