Jack Hickey, 93, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Friday, March 11, 2005.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy will officiate with interment following in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Jack was born in Philipsburg, Mont., on June 17, 1911, the son of James and Nellie Hickey. He attended school in Philipsburg, moving to the Oden area at the age of 12. The family established a dairy farm which Jack purchased in 1954.

He married Lois Hammond on Dec. 23, 1944, in Sandpoint and they lived on the farm in Oden. Hickey Farms because a Grad e A dairy and is still in operation today. Jack raised registered Holsteins and showed them at the Bonner County fairs. He sold registered Holsteins into Canada. Jack semi-retired in 1991.

He was past president of the Oden Water Association and active as a barn superintendent at county fairs. He was a member of the Horseman's Association, the Sandpoint Saddle Club, and the Bonner County Cattleman's Association.

Jack enjoyed his family and his farm.

He is survived by two children, Jim Hickey of Sandpoint, and Jacki (and Jim) Holt of Sandpoint; four grandchildren, Dean (and Karrie) Holt of Sandpoint, Jeff Holt of Sandpoint, Mark Holt of Sandpoint, and Kristi (and Brian) Armstrong of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and two nieces, Paula Pry of Spokane, and Tracy Johnson of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; two sisters, Wilma Neal and Effie Crowell; and a great-grandchild, Pam.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
