Joseph 'Bud' Hoagland, 86

Joseph "Bud" Hoagland, 86, passed away on March 24, 2005, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

He was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Claytonia, Idaho, to James Taylor and Mary Boyes (Andrus) Hoagland.

He married Doris M. Howick on Jan. 1, 1943, in Pocatello, Idaho.

The family moved to Hope, Idaho, in 1976 from Garden Grove, Calif. They also had lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, Denver, Colo., and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Bud was a captain pilot for Western Airlines for 35 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Elks.

Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing and remote control airplanes.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris at home; a son, Larry (and Virginia) Hoagland of Duarte, Calif.; daughters, Kaye (and Dr. David) Lombadi of Norco, Calif., and Susan (and Harvey) Ruff of Warden, Wash.; grandchildren, Maxwell and Julie; great-grandchildren, Lori and Lisa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.

English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d'Alene is in charge of arrangements.
