Players, coaches boosters to be honored April 9
COEUR d'ALENE — Mark Schlereth, former Idaho football standout and NFL all-pro, will be the guest speaker at the 43rd annual North Idaho Sports Banquet.
The banquet, which honors top high school and college athletes, coaches and boosters in North Idaho, is scheduled for April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Inn, W. 414 Appleway.
Schlereth, now an analyst for ESPN, is one of five people who will be inducted into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame at the banquet. The others are former North Idaho College wrestling coach John Owen; former Post Falls boys basketball coach C.W. Totten; the late Jim DeMers, a national high school record holder in the javelin; and Ron Heller, former Clark Fork High great who played in the NFL for San Francisco, Atlanta and Seattle.
A social hour is scheduled from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Tickets, at $23 for adults, $9 for students, are on sale at Les Schwab Tire Centers in North Idaho.
