Redenda 'Dena' Mosher, 88

Redenda "Dena" Mosher, 88, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Friday, March 25, 2005.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Pastor Darryn Hewson, United Methodist Church, will officiate with interment following in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Friends may call at Coffelt's Moon Chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Dena was born on May 18, 1916, in Abdal, Neb., the oldest child of Irvin and Mary Hiatt. She grew up in Nebraska, attending schools in Bostwick and Guide Rock, Neb. During the era of the "dust bowl," she moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1936.

She married Leslie Mosher on Aug. 24, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Missoula, Mont. She served as librarian for the Bonner County Public Schools for six years and was the Sandpoint city librarian from 1956 until 1976, when she retired.

Dena was honored for her years of service by placing the first book on the shelves of the new library.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint, and was a charter member of the Morning Glory Circle of the church. She also belonged to the United Methodist Women.

She was active in many things and served on many committees.

Dena was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Mosher of Sandpoint; 23 nieces and nephews, including Bill and Linda Hiatt of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; two brothers, Don Hiatt of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Jamie Hiatt of Sandpoint; and three sisters, Madeline King of Sandpoint, Genevieve Holden of Spokane, Wash., and Margene McNutt of Pinehurst, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Virgil and Fran Hiatt; and a sister, JoAnn Knoblich.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint, Idaho.
