Misty L. Westby, 62, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A memorial service and potluck lunch to honor her life will be held at noon, Saturday May 7, 2005, at the VFW Hall in Sandpoint.

Misty was born on May 6, 1942 in Billings, Mont., to Charles and Julieann Vann.

She was raised and attended schools in Billings. She later met and married Lee Westby.

She worked in nursing and took care of the elderly. In her younger years, she traveled in a popular dance band in which she was the lead singer and drummer. Misty had a way of bringing people together for "other worldly reasons," who always remained friends.

Misty was also known to be a beautiful letter writer to her friends and family. Her proudest accomplishment was the 2004 march on the nation's capitol for women's reproductive rights. Misty will be most remembered for her sense of humor and her loyalty to friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Myers of Billings, Mont.; five grandchildren, Charity Risinski, Brandee Myers, Kimberly Myers, Travis Myers and Briana Reece; six great-grandchildren; and the many neighborhood and community children that called her Grandma, including Shandra and Justin Guthrie, Matt Hicks and Ian Wooler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Lee Westby.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Misty's memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her online guest book.
