Geneva J. Halverson, 76, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, May 5, 2005.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Pastor Dave Olson of First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Coffelt Funeral Service on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Geneva was born in Harrington, Wash., on April 3, 1929. She grew up in eastern Washington, graduating from high school in Harrington, Wash., in 1947.
She married Lloyd A. Halverson on Dec. 17, 1947, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She lived in Harrington, Wash., Kellogg, Idaho, and Bismark, N.D. The family operated the Copeland Ferry near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, for many years. In 1968, she moved to Sandpoint and worked at the Hupp Motel.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing the family clothing. She enjoyed gardening, camping and cooking over an open campfire.
She is survived by five children, Lavonne Gilliland of Bonners Ferry, Clark Halverson of Bonners Ferry, Lavine Mobley of Oneida, Ky., Larissa Rosario of Los Gatos, Calif., and Lavern Halverson of Sandy, Utah; four grandchildren, Linda Hinson of Florida, John Halverson of Bonners Ferry, Matt Halverson of Moyie Springs, Idaho, and Logan Rosario of California; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Lonnie; two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
