Kellogg girls and boys win 3A District I title
PINEHURST — The host Kellogg Wildcats swept their Intermountain League foes to win both the boys and girls 3A District I championships on Monday at Pinehurst Golf Course.
Winning medalist honors for the day were Derek Jarvey of Kellogg with a 71 and Sue James of Kellogg of an 89.
Qualifying for the girls state tournament as individuals from local teams were, Shelby Hatfield (girls) of Priest River and Taylor Garbut (boys) of Bonners Ferry.
Bonners Ferry and Priest River finished the day tied, but the Badgers edged the Spartans by a single stroke on a playoff hole to advance to the state tournament as the second team from the district for the boys.
The 3A State Golf Tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday in Buhl.
