'Whopper' of a building too much for Sandpoint
As I look at this drawing of Panhandle State Bank's proposed new headquarters, I am forced to wonder. I was first under the impression that PSB needed a large building to house its corporate offices and employees. That seemed fine and dandy, after all, we would hate to see those folks and their jobs relocate to who knows where. But I see a different picture emerging here. This whopper of a building is not just for PSB's personnel, but it contains a whole lot more. Commercial space and two floors of residential units. It appears that PSB in fact only needs a small percentage of this space to service its needs. Pushing the height limits upward to accommodate penthouse suites is pushing the limits all right!
By saying they need to build this much stay in town is starting to sound like a thinly-veiled threat. I am certainly glad this proposed building has been shown to us so the folks voting can see exactly what it is. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Plan B and C.
