SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Sophomore pitcher Logan Free was named the Southern Conference's final Pitcher of the Week of the regular season on Monday, according to a announcement made by the conference office.

Free, a native of Sandpoint, pitched twice in the Eagles' series sweep of UNC Greensboro this past weekend.

In the opener of the series, Free threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out eight batters. In Sunday's series finale, Free entered the game in relief of Tiffany Urena, throwing two scoreless innings to ensure the Eagles' 5-3 win over the Spartans.

On the season, Free is 11-10 with a 2.06 ERA, third-lowest in the conference. Free has also tallied 138 strikeouts, while she has allowed opposing batters a .201 average, the best figure in the conference.

Free is the third Eagle player to be honored by the conference this season.
