Simple solutions clear way to keeping windows shining

| May 17, 2005 9:00 PM

Summertime is just around the corner and our windows look dingy and dirty from a long winter. I don't know about your but I hate paying for those high-cost window-washing fluids. Below are a few solutions that I think you'll find beneficial and fairly cheap to make.

1. For heavily soiled windows, take 1/2 cup of ammonia and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch in a bucket of warm water. Mix thoroughly and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the window, scrub with a nylon pad and then squeegee off excessive water.

2. Take 1 cup of ammonia, 1 cup of vinegar and 3 cups of water. Mix thoroughly and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the window, scrub with a nylon pad and then squeegee off excessive water.

3. If you hate mixing things then go to any gas station and buy windshield washer fluid. It's basically the same as brand name version except a whole lot cheaper and you can buy it by the gallon.

If you are allergic to any of the above products, please don't use them. Always test fabrics and paints before using any chemical compound. Please remember to wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and eye protection for your eyes.
