Ruth Marie Crettol, 90

Ruth Marie Crettol, 90, passed away, Sunday, May 15, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20, at the Sandpoint United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darryn J. Hewson officiating.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho, with the Rev. Ralph Lawrence officiating. Ritualistic services will be performed by Adah Chapter No. 8 Order of the Eastern Star.

Ruth was born on July 8, 1914, in Victor, Colo. to Jessie and Alice Kendrick. She was a graduate of beauty school, and received a teaching degree in music from the Schubert Conservatory of Music, Los Angeles, Calif.

Ruth married Russell M. Crettol on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932, in Denver, Colo.

In 1946, after World War II, the family moved to Boise. Ruth worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company until her retirement in 1956.

Her husband Russ passed away in Boise on July 20, 1998.

Ruth moved to Sandpoint in 2000 to be closer to her family, and resided at The Bridge Assisted Living until November 2004, at which time she moved to the Huckleberry Retirement Home.

Ruth was a very dedicated homemaker, and she was a very good steward of her resources. Ruth will be missed for her sense of humor. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing the organ. She loved all animals, but especially her cat, Susie. Working in her flower beds, sewing and reading were her favorite pastimes.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Adah Chapter No. 8, Boise, where she served as organist for many years. She also had been active in Job's Daughters as a leader.

She is survived by two sons, Russell Marvin (Myra) Crettol of Olympia, Wash., and Richard (Suellen) Crettol of Sandpoint; six grandchildren, Cheryl (Walt) Johnson of Incline Village, Nev., Jeffrey Crettol of Puyallup, Wash., Christopher (Diana) Crettol of Tacoma, Wash., Brian (Chenoa) Crettol of Sandpoint, Deborah (Robert) Mitchell of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Gregory (Sara) Crettol Kent, Wash.; 10 great-grandchildren Nicholas Crettol, Ashley and Mattea Mitchell, Emily Crettol, Daniel, William and Elizabeth Johnson, Grace, Nicholas, and Leam Crettol.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Russell M. Crettol.
