'Minor infractions' can have deadly results

| May 30, 2005 9:00 PM

Reference is made to the letter from James "Bean" Johnston in the Daily Bee, May 19.

What Mr. Johnston calls "minor traffic infractions" sometimes have deadly results.

I wonder if Mr. Johnston is one of those innumerable people who tailgate trucks and buses through the red light from the left lane at the intersection of Highway 2 and Boyer; or the intersection of Kootenai Cutoff and Highway 95.

I wonder if Mr. Johnston is one of the people who went through the red light at second and Cedar at 30 MPH, right in front of my school bus loaded with kids.

I wonder if Mr. Johnston is one of the people who went through the stop sign at Cedar and Boyer at 35 miles per hour, right in front of my school bus loaded with kids.

These are just a few samples of what is happening in our community. Driver behavior is deplorable.

If Mr. Johnston, or anyone else, is ever caught doing these things I hope the judge throws the book at them and, from my perspective, the book is not big enough.
