Edith Dell Perry, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, in Tucson, Ariz. "Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his saints."

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, in Coffelt's Funeral Service Chapel. Her son, Lester Perry, will officiate, with interment to be held in the Pack River Cemetery.

Edith was born on Nov. 16, 1920, in Kirkwood, Mo., the daughter of John and Julia (Bland) Bayer. She grew up in St. Louis and attended schools there, graduating from high school in Kirkwood.

In 1937, she moved to Bend, Ore., and met her future husband, Lester Lloyd Perry. They were married on Dec. 27, 1944, when Lester returned from World War II service in the South Pacific.

During their 53 years of marriage, she lived in Florida, Oregon, California, Washington and Idaho, moving to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1978. Following the death of her husband in 1999, she moved to Tucson to be with her daughter, Noel Schumacher.

Edith lived her life with a deep love of the word of God. She taught Bible classes and had an extensive correspondence with her extended spiritual family in many states. She enjoyed gardening and playing both the piano and organ.

She is survived by her children, Lester and Sandra Perry of Oregon, Noel and Richard Schumacher of Arizona, and Julia and Russell Toomey of Sandpoint; five grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and her large, extended spiritual family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
