Emery A. Wilson, 89
Emery A. Wilson, 89, passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sandpoint with Pastor Matthew Lombard officiating.
Emery was born on Sept. 15, 1916, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Samuel and Hazel Frances (Souther) Wilson Sr. He lived in numerous locations while growing up, including Hawaii as his father was in the U.S. Navy.
He met Rosaline "Rose" Cota in Vallejo, Calif., in 1935 while attending high school there and they married on June 25, 1939. The couple moved to Idaho with their two children in August 1946.
Emery moved to Idaho to become a logger, owning his own truck. After logging, he worked as a laborer on the Cabinet Gorge Dam. He finally went to work for Pack River Lumber Company, working there for 23 years and retiring in 1979.
Emery's main joy was going hunting, but he also enjoyed fishing and going up into the mountains to pick huckleberries.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rose Wilson of Sandpoint; his three sons, Sam (Patti) Wilson of Sagle, Jerry (Donna) Wilson of Ponderay, Idaho, and Mike (Kathy) Wilson of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Carol (Jim) Ward of Priest River, Idaho; and Bonnie (Randy) Kemp of Hayden, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Fitts of Milam, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Emery was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Samuel A. Wison.
