Community's compassion helped little boy's kitten

| November 21, 2005 8:00 PM

I would like to thank Mary Berryhill and the Daily Bee for taking the time and putting in the effort to get out the story about Brandan Bowen and his "Mystery' kitten. The response from the community was absolutely amazing.

It was an extremely heartwarming day for all of us at the Bonner Humane Society Spay & Neuter Clinic. We had calls coming pledging donations and several wonderful people that came in gave donations.

When Brandan came in after school, he was amazed at how much attention the article in the Bee had generated at his school and how many donations that had been received. The fees for Mystery have been covered. Any donations received from now on will go into a designated fund to help other animals.

We at BHS Clinic sincerely thank everyone for their kind words and generous donations. We especially thank Brandon for being such a loving and responsible pet caretaker; he has worked hard to help Mystery receive the needed care and is doing a great job of post-op caregiving. I hope that his example of love and responsibility will be an inspiration to others.

Mystery is going great, thanks to the love and care shown him by Brandan and his family, Dr. Higgins and the staff at Bonner Humane Society Clinic and the many, many caring people in this community.

Thanks to everyone.
