CF splits with Timberlake in openers

Mike Martin led the Cats with 16 points in their 42-31 season opening win at Timberlake.

"He handled the ball really well tonight," said coach Brian Powell. "He did our quarterbacking and hit clutch free throws down the stretch."

Junior newcomer Hunter Chance added 12 points as the Cats were able to overcome a lot of turnovers to capture the non-league win.

The Cat (1-0) next game is Tuesday at Wallace.

Clark Fork Girls

Freshman Bailey Hewitt had 11 points, Rashell Trunnell had seven points and 12 rebounds and Reyna Allen added seven points as Clark Fork lost it's season opener to Timberlake 34-25.

"You could tell it was our first game," said coach Mark Stevens, who's team was 0-11 on threes and 7-29 on free throws. "We executed well on offense and defense, we just shot poorly."

The Cats host Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.
