Bulldogs roll over Hawks on senior night, 9-0
SANDPOINT — The Bulldogs scored early and often as they dispatched the visiting Hawks 9-0 on senior night at Memorial Field.
"They kind of lit us up in the first ten minutes," said Lakeland coach Nick Haynes. "They got the momentum early on and sort of deflated us."
Senior Michael Brewer had a goal and three assists and Chase Lowther added two goals, as the Bulldogs tallied six goals in the first twenty-four minutes.
After having early season trouble finding the back of the net, the Bulldogs seem to be clicking on all cylinders offensively, outscoring Post Falls and Lakeland a combined 17-0 in the last two games.
"We're finishing really well, our ball movement is the best it's been all year," said Sandpoint coach Randy Thoreson. "This is really a treat to watch, I hope we can keep it up the rest of the year."
The very young Lakeland 2-11-0(1-9-0) team had a hard time keeping up with the pace of the senior laden Bulldogs, only managing one shot on goal.
"They've got speed, are well coached and attack from everywhere on the field," said Haynes. "They put lots of pressure on the ball and we couldn't figure out who to mark up on."
The Bulldogs 11-1-2(8-0-2) play at Northwest Christian Friday at 3 p.m.
