Listed below are significant industrial wastewater discharge violations of the requirement of 40 CFR, Part 403 (General Federal Pretreatment Regulations) occurring over the past 12 months within the City of Sandpoint:

Litehouse Inc. violated a fats, oils and grease (FOG) limit for one sample taken in November 2004. A resample showed compliance.

Litehouse Bleu Cheese Factory violated a FOG limit in May 2005. A subsequent sample taken in May 2005 showed a violation of FOG and BOD.

Bonner General Hospital violated a FOG limit in August 2005. A resample showed compliance.

A Notice of Violation has been sent to Litehouse Bleu Cheese Factory. Compliance with the permit requirements is expected in the future.
