Virginia Mae McElroy, 78

Virginia Mae McElroy, 78, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Saint John Vianny Church, 503 N. Walnut Rd., Spokane Valley, Wash.

Virginia was born on July 26, 1927, in Wilbur, Wash., the daughter of Vernon and Gertrude (Foley) Angstrom. She graduated from high school in Hunters, Wash. She moved to Spokane, Wash., to attend Kinman Business University.

It was while working at Diamond Ice and Fuel that Billy D. McElroy caught her eye.

Virginia and Bill were married on Dec. 21, 1947, at her parents home, they had 57 wonderful years together.

Her love, laughter and quick wit will be greatly missed. She was loved so much by all her family, the wonderful memories we created together will always remain with us.

The family would like to send a very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Randy Cope and staff of Internal Medicine for the many years of excellent care.

She is survived by husband Bill of Sagle, Idaho; three children and their spouses, Dona and Dave Martinson of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Sharon and Roger Schoer of Spokane Valley, and Alan and Margaret McElroy of Federal Way, Wash.; four wonderful grandchildren, Kim Johnson and fiance, Bill Stotts of Spokane Valley, Wash., Justin Martinson of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Katie and Billy McElroy of Spokane Valley. She is also survived by her brother Ed Angstrom and wife Gloria of Davenport, Wash., loving daughter-in-law, Mary McElroy of Spokane Valley; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
