SANDPOINT — The Panhandle Alliance for Education, a non-profit organization serving the Lake Pend Oreille School District, has named Marcia Wilson as its executive director.

Wilson's background is well-suited for the job. Her career has spanned several management positions in the high-tech industry as both product manager and as marketing programs manager. Her primary responsibilities have been in the area of strategic planning for growth and include goal setting, communications and the coordination of events and individuals to achieve specific objectives. Wilson has two children in the Lake Pend Oreille School District.

As executive director, Wilson is responsible for the coordination of the grants programs, the development of strategic plans, budgets, and projects, various fund-raising activities, marketing, public relations, and the maintenance and growth of the alliance's Web site.

"It's exciting to be part of such a dynamic organization where the ultimate product is the success of our kids. In just three years, this organization has made a significant difference in our schools," said Wilson.

"We are lucky to have someone with Marcia's skills and background working with the Alliance to help kids and teachers in our local schools," said PAFE President William M. Berg. "I am confident she will help us move to the next level of energy and effectiveness as an essential community nonprofit."
