Andy Gibson 'Sonny' Bullock, 74

Andy Gibson "Sonny" Bullock, 74, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of Andy's life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge. Inurnment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery.

Andy was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Hamilton, Mont., to Andy and Ivy Bullock. He grew up and attended schools in Hamilton. After high school, Andy enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in France.

Andy spent some time on a fire lookout in the Selway wilderness area, and then went to work in the sawmill in Sealy Lake, Mont. Andy married Verda Holman on Nov. 20, 1954, in Sealy Lake. The couple then moved to Missoula where Andy continued his work in the sawmills. He worked as a prison guard for four years at the Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge.

In 1971 they moved to Sandpoint and Andy went to work at the Kootenai stud mill.

Andy is a 26-year member of the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to garden and enjoyed canning the food he would pick from his garden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Verda Bullock of Ponderay, Idaho; four daughters, Kathleen (Jim) Tully of Westmond, Idaho, Sue (Johnnie) Lawson of Kootenai, Idaho, Barbara Bullock (Joe Hunt) of Ponderay and Lorraine (Michael) Lewis of Sandpoint, Idaho; three sons, Samuel (Debbie) Bullock of Gillette, Wyo., John Bullock of Portland, Ore., and David (Shannon) Bullock of Hayden Lake, Idaho; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris McKay of Sacramento, Calif.; Betty Jeffries of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Cherry Ann (Ned) Davis of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Deanna Fadness, Marian Browning and Iris Terou.
