Time to join others in 'killing' mackinaws

| October 12, 2005 9:00 PM

At the recent OctoberFish fishing derby at Bayview, there was one Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club member surprised that there was someone other than a club member or Idaho Fish and Game official that would or could want to make blood money to kill a game fish (lake trout).

Several LPOIC members have been receiving blood money for a couple of years now. Most true fishermen wouldn't even think of doing this. The lake has already been ruined now, so why not? Thanks to Fish and Game nets and the money they paid. So now, the trophy mackinaw fishing is gone.

So to all the fish killers and blood money fishing people in LPOIC, watch out. From now on, you just may have more competition than you want. No more easy money.

During the last two years, I have been fighting with Fish and Game and the LPOIC club against nets and bounties on mackinaws, but no one wanted to listen. The trophy mackinaws are largely extinct in our lake. So I'm going to get some of that easy money while I can. I haven't perfected my skills at killing mackinaws for money yet but with more practice, I'll be as good as a fish killer as Fish and Game.
