Bulldog boys handle Lewiston

| October 13, 2005 9:00 PM

LEWISTON — Michael Brewer had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Eddy added to his team-leading goal total as the Bulldogs went on the road and beat Lewiston 2-1.

Boys soccer coach Randy Thoreson was able to rest his starters for most of the second half in a game not nearly as close as the score would indicate. Thoreson also rested senior Chase Lowther, who had sprained his ankle against Coeur d' Alene, and will probably rest at least a couple more games.

Brewer was largely responsible for the Bulldogs' quick start.

"He's a great athlete," said Thoreson. "He gets a lot of touches in our offense and is involved in about everything we do."

The Inland Empire League champion Bulldogs will host Lakeland on Tuesday in the first round of the district tournament.
