Right making much ado over nothing about show

It's interesting to watch the flap over the popular new TV show "Commander in Chief."

Conservatives seem to be coming unglued because the central character is the first female president of the United States. They see it as hype for the potential candidacy of Hillary Clinton. They are so used to having the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Shawn Hannity and Bill O'Reilly promoting their point of view that anything that suggests there may be another perspective is apparently sacrilegious.

"The West Wing", a long-running TV show depicting a progressive, very un-Bush-like, president collected some criticism from the right, but nothing to match the frenzy over "Commander in Chief."

Clearly, it is time for a change in governance at both the federal and state level. While the performance of the Republicans, including George Bush and the Idaho Legislature, has been dismal, it is interesting that depicting a successful political leadership performance on television is seen by the right as an attack.

Harry Truman was sometimes called "Give'm hell, Harry." He deflected that moniker with, "I don't give'm hell. I just tell the truth and they think it's hell."
