Howard Leroy Sexton, 84

Howard Leroy Sexton, 84, passed away, Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint.

Ritualistic services will be performed by Lakeside Lodge No. 42 AF & AM, and military honors will be presented by the Sandpoint Veteran's Honor Guard.

Howard was born on July 18, 1921, in Penfield, Pa., the forth of six children born to Frank and Estella Sexton.

He attended Penfield schools, and, in 1939, entered the United States Army.

Howard served his country in World War II in the Pacific Theater and the Korean War.

Howard was honorably discharged from the military in 1953.

Howard served his career with the Job Corps in the Four Corners area in the Southwest.

After retiring, he moved to Sandpoint and built his home in about 1969.

Howard just married Marjorie Nelson on Aug. 28, 2005, in Sandpoint.

Howard is a member of Masonic Lodge, Toppenish-Meridian No. 178, Scottish Rite Valley of Yakima, and the Shriner's.

He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, and tinkering in his shop.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Nelson-Sexton of Sagle, Idaho; three stepsons, Mike Nelson of Sagle, Steve Nelson of Boise, Idaho, and Don Nelson of Spirit Lake, Idaho; a son, Tom Sexton of Crestwood, Ky.; a daughter, Judith Gibbs of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and a sister, Mae Assalone of Penfield.
