Wallace Emil 'Wally' Erickson, 82
Wallace Emil "Wally" Erickson, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at his home in Clark Fork, Idaho. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Wally was born on Jan. 2, 1923, in Trail, British Columbia, Canada, the son of Helmer and Henny (Mark) Erickson. He grew up and attended schools in Clark Fork, and graduated from Clark Fork High School.
Wally married Arlene Anderson on April 12, 1944, in Clark Fork.
He then entered the United States Navy, after being honorably discharged, he and Arlene purchased Wally's Texaco in Clark Fork and also operated the coffee shop. He sold the businesses after 40 years, and spent the next 20 years working for the Bonner County School District as a bus driver and custodian.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Arlene Erickson of Clark Fork; a daughter, Gail (Herb) Douglas of Portland, Ore.; a son, Curtis (Terri) Erickson of Spokane, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Erickson of Clark Fork; five grandchildren, Patrick, Marin and Kirsten Erickson of Spokane, and Kaitlyn and Scott Douglas of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother and a nephew.
