Becker serves Cats past Cd'A
PLUMMER — Clark Fork took their first step towards qualifying for the state volleyball tournament by knocking off the Coeur d' Alene Charter Academy 25-20, 25-16, and 25-22 Thursday night in Plummer.
Tia Becker had a strong serving night tallying nine aces, painting the lines, and garnering the praise of her coach.
"She had great placement; she kept it low, powerful and consistent," said Cats coach Lisa Allen. "A lot of her serves were going for the line and she was hitting them."
Tiffany Van Buren added four kills, 20 digs, and three aces. Jolene Meredith added four kills and Bailey Hewitt led the team with eight assists and two blocks.
"We came together as a team tonight," said Allen. "We didn't play to our highest level but we played well as a team."
The Cats will play Saturday against Wallace, a team that they've taken some games off this year, but haven't been able to put away.
"We've been practicing all week with the goal of beating Wallace," said Allen. "We're prepared to play them tough."
If the cats can get by Wallace, they will assure themselves of a spot in the state tournament Oct. 29 in Coeur d' Aene.
