John T. Davidson

John T. Davidson of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away on Oct. 19, 2005.

Interment is in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Ore. No services are planned.

He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Sept. 14, 1916, to Jessie Adeline Taylor Davidson and Harry Wilson Davidson.

He attended public schools in Fort Dodge and Boone, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree. He taught in public schools in Iowa for two years before being called to active duty in the U.S. Army.

After almost four years of service in World War II, he and his wife moved to Oregon, where he taught until his retirement. He attended Oregon State University and graduated with a master of science degree. He retired from the Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel with 24 years of combined service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, formerly Marjorie Elaine McConnell of Webster City, Iowa. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

John Davidson served as an artillery battery commander in Europe during World War II. He supported many veterans' organizations. Memorials may be sent to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 890, P.O. Box 2014, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
