William C. 'Bill' Gorsline, 91

William C. "Bill" Gorsline, 91, died peacefully on Sept. 9, 2005.

He was born on July 20, 1914, in Sandpoint, Idaho, the son of Clem and Claire Gorsline and grandson of William and Jennie Whitaker.

The family moved to Seattle during the Great Depression, where Bill worked in his father's Beacon Hill store. He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

He worked on and off for the Boeing Company before, during and after World War II. He was one of a six-person design group for wiring the B-29. When not working for Boeing, he lived and worked in Sitka, Alaska.

He married Nellie (Lewsthof) Schneider in 1940.

In 1941, Boeing commandeered him to work on plans for planes being built in the "war effort."

Bill and Nell raised their family in Seattle and were active in their neighborhood Christian Science church.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Nell.

Survivors include his brother, Arden; his sister, Jane; sons, Ralph, Warren and David; stepson, Jerry Schneider; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
