Richard Joe 'Rick' Topp Sr., 53

Richard Joe "Rick" Topp Sr., 53, went to be with the Lord in Post Falls, Idaho, on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in the Coffelt Funeral Service chapel. Pastor William Culp of Post Falls will officiate.

Rick was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Feb. 28, 1952, the son of Cecil and Anne Topp. He attended Bonner County schools, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1970. He graduated from North Idaho College in 1994 and received his bachelor's degree in social work from Lewis and Clark College in 1999.

He married Rosemary Kirschbaum in Sandpoint on Dec. 17, 1979. He moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1996, and then to Post Falls in 2000. He was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Post Falls and was an ordained Baptist minister.

Rick enjoyed being around his family and watching his youngest son in all of his sports activities, especially wrestling.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing and stock car racing.

Rick is survived by his wife, Rosemary Topp of Post Falls; two sons, Richard Topp Jr. of Post Falls and Gregory Topp of Post Falls; his mother, Anne (and Joe) Colpaert of Sandpoint; two brothers, Larry (and Shirley) Topp of Coeur d'Alene and John (and Anna) Topp of Kootenai, Idaho; two half-brothers, Joe Colpaert of Georgia and Shawn Colpaert of Seattle, Wash.; and numerous stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Cecil Topp.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
