Support is needed to help Hurricane Katrina's victims

| September 5, 2005 9:00 PM

Dear people of Sandpoint,

My name is Annalisa Armbruster. I am a fifth grader at Washington Elementary. I've been watching many reports on TV about Hurricane Katrina.

Hurricane Katrina has covered many states, and wiped out thousands and thousands of homes. It has left people with very dirty water, no food, and no place to call home. I can't imagine what that feels like.

Even though I don't know those families, I want to help them. My mom and I talked about what we could do to help, and we decided to organize a bake sale. This will be held in front of Yoke's Pac 'n' Save in Ponderay on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. We will send ALL the money made from our bake sale to the American Red Cross. We called all of our friends and they said they'd love to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. We'll have lots of yummy treats.

I would appreciate your support. If everyone in the country did just a little thing to help with Hurricane Katrina, it may prevent people from dying or suffering. Can you help?
