Sandpoint girls skunk Lake City 2-0

COEUR d'ALENE — The Bulldogs, who lost 5-1 at Lakeland last week, bounced back with goals in the eighth and 52nd minutes in IEL play at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.

"Sandpoint is still a team that's going to come out and compete," Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. "They're still right up there, and we need to compete the whole time. We're still young … we just couldn't put any of our opportunities away."

Katie Adams and Becca Stone each had a goal and an assist for Sandpoint (2-1 in league, 2-2 overall).

Lake City (0-1, 0-2-1) travels to Spokane to play Central Valley on Thursday.
