| September 7, 2005 9:00 PM

Rose Marie (Sevigny) Scott, 84, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Senior Citizens Center in Clark Fork. Her remains will be interred with those of her husband, Joseph Scott at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland, Mass.

Rose was born on March 21, 1921, at St. Adriene de Ham in Quebec, Canada. She was the second born child of Pierre Sevigny and Aldea Marcotte. When Rose was 12 her family moved to Maine, where Rose was enrolled in school to learn English as her second language.

Later, she served as a teacher's assistant until the age of 18 when she left the school and entered domestic service for 50 cents a day and was provided with room and board. In 1939 she moved to Boston and began work with the Stride Rite Shoe Company as a stitcher, a position from which she retired in 1975.

She married John Robeiro in February 1943 in Boston with whom she had one son, John. Upon her marriage to Joseph Scott in 1955, she inherited an additional six children whom she loved and raised. She moved to Clark Fork in 1986 to be closer to her son and his family.

While living there she was active in TOPPS and lost 70 pounds. She was also active in the Clark Fork Senior Citizens Association by holding offices, selling raffle tickets, helping out at mealtime, playing pinochle and bingo, driving for the clean up the roadway days and taking part in the potlucks. In her younger years she would always attend the local home basketball games with her girlfriend, Cass Hellar, both enjoyed watching their grandchildren play. She was always complemented on her colorful clothes and the holidays would see her dressing up for the part, whether it was the Fourth of July or Halloween.

She is survived by her son, John Scott and his wife, Marie of Clark Fork. Also surviving her are her six stepchildren, Rita, Joseph, Gerald, Delores, Linda and Gina and their families all from Boston, Mass. She is also survived by her brother Marcel Sevigny and his family in Montreal, Canada and by her sister Teresa White. Twenty-three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive her. This past year she was looking forward with great anticipation to the birth of her first two natural great-grandchildren from each of her two grandsons, Greg and his wife, Lisa of Winnemucca, Nev., as well as Jason and his wife Kelley of Eatonton, Ga. It was her fondest wish to live long enough to hold them. That wish came true in June of this year when Mabel Rose and Justin William blessed our family with their arrival.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Scott in 1978 at Brockton, Mass.; her mother in Montreal in 1923; her father at Sanford, Maine, in 1936; her brother Omer at Montreal in 1920; her brother Gerrard at Sanford, Maine, in 1940; and her sister Lucette Alexander at Houston, Texas, in 1982.
