Harry J. O'Brien, 62, passed away in Sagle, Idaho, on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005.
A memorial/wake service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Sandpoint Elks Golf Course.
Harry was born in Seattle, Wash., on March 5, 1943, the son of Eugene and Marie O'Brien. From 1960 until 1964, he served with the U.S. Air Force. He worked construction, belonging to Labor Local No. 238, before becoming a driver for United Parcel Service. He worked for UPS for many years, belonging to Local No. 690 prior to retiring.
Harry enjoyed NASCAR racing, attending many Winston and Nextel Cup races over the years.
He enjoyed "old car" shows, old cars and owned a 1957 Oldsmobile, Super 88, two-door hardtop.
He liked to stay busy and worked part-time at the Sandpoint Elks Golf Course for the last two years. He was a member of the Newport Eagles Lodge in Newport, Wash.
He is survived by a daughter, Marsallai (and Steve) Quick of Oroville, Wash.; three grandchildren, Austianna, Reinna and Connelly, all of Oroville; three brothers, Dennis O'Brien of Priest Lake, Idaho, Robert Wallis of Priest River, Idaho, and Gus Wallis of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Jan Bradbury of Priest Lake; beloved friend, Betty O'Donnell of Sagle; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint, Idaho.
