PRIEST RIVER — The St. Maries Lumberjack volleyball team showed they will be a force to contend with in the IML after beating the Priest River Spartans in three games.

The Lumberjacks won all three games by at least seven points, 25-14, 25-18, and for the third game the Jacks got out front until the end to win handily, 25-9.

Priest River head coach Ken Skacel said their team is really tough and it helps that their team plays club matches during the summer.

"They don't make that many errors and their game is so much quicker," he said.

Spartan Lacey Hopkins led Priest River with two aces, six kills, and five digs.

Priest River (2-2, 5-4) will be playing at the Lakeland Tournament on Saturday.
