James Spencer 'Jim' Decker, 72

James Spencer "Jim" Decker, 72, passed away at his home on March 30th , 2006 in Sagle, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Lakeview Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Westmond Cemetery.

Jim was born on Oct. 3, 1933, the son of George and Ruth (Watkins) Decker in Mankato, Minn.

He grew up in Mankato and attended school until the family moved West. They settled in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Dec. 3, 1953 in Sandpoint, Idaho, and served in Korea.

Jim married Jeanine Thomas in California where he worked for North American in the elictrical department and also held a master's degree in graph analysis.

He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1971 and worked for W.I. Forest Products at the Dover Planning Mill.

Jim also worked for the Sandpoint Senior Center as Manager and served on the board of directors, volunteering many hours in the senior center.

Jim enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, watching TV, playing pool and his family.

Memorial may be made to the Senior Center in his memory.

Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Decker of Sandpoint; a son, Steve Decker of Post Falls, Idaho; grandchildren Cody, Samantha, Tiffany and Josh and great-grandchild, Bailey Luraski; brothers, Albert Decker of Sandpoint and Dennis Decker of Spokane, Wash.; and a sister, Iris Schmidt of Mead, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
