Taxpayers shouldn't add
to judges' pension fund
Well I thought I would inform my fellow citizens that our elected officials Shawn Keough, Eric Anderson and George Eskridge all voted for S 1408.
The increase in the court filing fees from the current $18 to $32 for the judges' pension fund. I don't know about the rest of you but to me this is theft of public funds. It would be no different if a portion of traffic ticket fees went into the police pension fund. The more they write the more they make. This sure does not serve the public well and only increases the pockets of the judges.
My question to our elected officials is what was in it for you? I wrote to each one of them and asked them to please not vote for this bill. Shawn Keough was the only one that got back to me and told me it was to late that she had voted for it and to contact my representatives. I did and neither one of them got back to me and voted for S 1408. Thank God it did not pass in the House.
I was glad to see that other state representatives were looking out after the citizens they serve and voted no. So please remember who's serving who next election when you cast your vote. I sure will.
