Why can't housing costs

be submitted to county?

When a building permit is completed and OK'd, why isn't the owner or builder required to sign a legal document stating the cost of construction and the value of the lot. This document is then sent to the assessor and no formal appraisal is needed.

Sounds simple to me. Could my question be answered in the Daily Bee so we all have the answer? Think of the dollars it would save.
