Ruth Elaine Meyer, 72, resident of Athol, Idaho passed away, Friday, April 7, 2006, at KMC in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with Pastor Ken Lawrence of River of Life Fellowship officiating.

Ruth was born on May 22, 1933, in Denver, Colo.,to Alman and Ethel Cunningham. She grew up and attended schools in Denver and Evans, Colo.

She married Myron Meyer on Oct. 24, 1948, in Greeley, Colo.

She worked at Ann's Ceramic in Greeley until 1976. The couple then moved to Casa Grande, Ariz., where they resided until 1978, moving to Cocolalla, Idaho, with daughter Barbara Batalia and husband Bob.

In 1979 they moved to property near Athol, where they resided together until Myron's death in March 1997.

Ruth enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, making dolls, and especially her family.

She is survived by her son,Butch (Nancy) Meyer of Fruitland, Idaho; a daughter, Barbara (Bob) Batalia of Athol; three grandchildren, Timothy (Amber) Meyer, Joshua (Michelle) Meyer and Elaine Batalia; three great-grandchildren, Timber, Kamylle and River; a sister, Lorraine McCarthy of Delano, Calif.; a brother, Frank Hurley of Wichita Falls, Texas; and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Joyce Koenig and Marjorie Barnett.
