Marte E. Elliott, 69, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006.

A memorial dinner has been scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 29, 2006, at the Eagles Lodge in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Marte was born May 10, 1936, in Middletown, Calif., to Frank and Florence Elliott.

She enjoyed painting, gardening, dancing and writing poetry. Marte was an avid antique collector and was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

She moved to the area in the early 1960 and loved Sandpoint and the surrounding area. She loved outdoor activities.

She will be missed by her many friends and family.

She is survived by six children, Connie and Gary Spurgeon, Melanie and Gordon Hollett, Tammie and Joseph Watson, Coco and Kevin Montgomery, Sean Montgomery and Morgan and Sally Montgomery; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, all in the Sandpoint area; a sister, Mildred Elliott of Bonners Ferry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and sisters.

We would like to give a special thanks to Sandy and Jim Smith for their loving care and lifelong friendship. We also would like to thank Shirley and Alvin Opp for always being there and Hospice for their wonderful care and concern.
