Bulldogs hammer Timberlake, 10-0

| April 17, 2006 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — Noah Hawkins had three hits and two RBIs, and was the third member of a pitching trio that one-hit Timberlake in a 10-0 win Monday at War Memorial Field.

"We pitched well as a staff today," said assistant coach Chris Young of his three starters that each threw two quality innings. "We didn't do anything fancy, just came after them and took care of business."

Tyler Lichty had two hits to go with a victory as the starting pitcher, and the Bulldogs ran their record to 6-4 on the season, including a perfect 5-0 against 4A competition.

Josh Easton had the only hit for the 3A Tigers (0-8), who couldn't seem to get any kind of rally started against Sandpoint.

"We're having problems sequencing from one play to the next," said Tigers' coach Trace Turrell. "We're mentally into it one play and out of it the next; no fluidity."

Sandpoint hosts Bonners Ferry on Thursday.
