Immigration debate is a no-brainer

| April 24, 2006 9:00 PM

This may help a bit concerning the perplexity over the millions of aliens who have invaded the United States…and why 90 percent of the American public is infuriated about it.

Did your ancestors from Hungary sneak into this country illegally, or did they wait their turn at Ellis Island as did millions of others seeking a new life in America?

Did the government make special signs for them in their native language so that they would not have to learn to speak the English language? Were billions of dollars of tax money involved so they could have free health care, public education, new jails for rapists, murderers, drug dealers and lest we forget, rent subsidies and food stamps? Did older Americans and American veterans do without so the aliens who came into the U.S. in a criminal manner could acquire the free health care and in the process, bankrupt hospitals across the country?

Did your relatives ever torch businesses and do millions of dollars in damage to property in a matter of minutes…as this writer witnesses as a reporter for a southern California daily in the early 1970s?

Was actually taking over the country an agenda with them?

How many of yours from the old country were involved in forming gangs of 20 or more…and then going out in these gangs and literally beating and severely injuring young gringo children?

Hopefully, you are no longer perplexed as to why tens of millions of Americans feel the way they do about illegal immigration and the results of it.
